Qiang Huang Qiang Huang (pronounced Chong Wong) was born and raised in Beijing China and now lives at Austin, Texas. His interest in art was developed when he was very young, and influenced strongly by his uncle, Hong-En Huang, a professional painter and art educator. He studied science and technology instead. He moved to America in 1985, obtained a Ph.D. in physics in 1993, and began a career in optical engineering. To further develop his artistic skills he has attended classes and workshops. He has studied from well-known artists such as David Leffel, Sherrie McGraw, Scott Burdick, Jean Chambers, and Miles Mathis. His paintings show remarkable accuracy and expressive brush strokes. Qiang has been a member of the Oil Painters of America since 2004. His paintings have been selected for the 14th, 15th, and 16th OPA National Juried Exhibitions. Qiang’s works are represented by Galerie Kornye West in Fort Worth, Texas and Nichols Fine Art Gallery in Taos, New Mexico.
