اسکات بوردیک، هنرمند توانای فیگوراتیو در ایالت شیکاگوی آمریکا به دنیا آمد.او خود می گوید:"در دوران کودکیم زمان زیادی را در بیمارستان و در گچ به همراه چوب زیر بغل گذراندم و در آن هنگام مادرم من را با هنر طراحی آشنا کرد.از آن پس زمان با سرعت زیادی برایم گذشت."او آموزش های هنری را در آکادمی هنر آمریکا و همچنین در باشگاه هنری "پالت و قلم"فرا گرفت.در این زمان بود که با سوزان لیون که خود نقاشی تواناست آشنا شد و با وی ازدواج کرد.او خود در این باره می گوید:"این بسیار چیز ارزشمندی است که ما دو نفر همیشه در حال نقاشی هستیم و به عنوان دو هنرمند پرورش پیدا می کنیم."مقاله های زیادی در رابطه با آثار او در نشریه های معتبری همچون آمریکن آرتیست به چاپ رسیده است.او سفرهای گسترده ای برای یافتن موضوعات آثارش به سراسر دنیا انجام می دهد و از وسیله هایی مانند رنگ و روغن، زغال و مداد به خوبی استفاده می کند. او یکی از اعضای انجمن نقاشان آمریکاست و هم اکنون به همراه همسرش در در کارولینای شمالی و در میان طبیعتی بکر و زیبا زندگی می کند.
Scott Burdick, was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, 1967. He says he spent a lot of time in the hospital in casts and on crutches as a young boy and after his mother introduced him to drawing the time passed much more quickly. Scott’s formal art training was received at the American Academy of Art and at the Palette and Chisel Art club, both located in Chicago. Scott met his wife, artist Sue Lyon, during this time. He says “It’s a wonderful thing being able to paint together all the time and grow as artists together.” Scott and his wife live in rural North Carolina surrounded by forests and the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Scott travels extensively throughout the world in search of subject matter for his mostly figurative paintings. The diverse cultures, costumes and customs he observes all offer a wide variety of material for his work. “What makes a subject attractive to me are the same things that attract us all. The beauty of a young girl, the character of a weathered face, the solitude of a farm at sunset, or even the story itself behind someone or something that makes it interesting.” Scott says. Scott’s work has been featured in articles in Southwest Art, Art of the West, American Artist, Art Talk and many other publications. He is a member of the Palette and Chisel Art club, Oil Painters of America and the Northwest Rendezvous group and participates in the Masters of the West Exhibition at the Autry Museum in Los Angeles.
